A PORTRAIT OF MAIDA ZANABONI-DOLEMAN

I was hired to produce a short documentary about the tango legend Maida Zanaboni-Doleman ahead of her 80th birthday. This involved meeting the talent, researching the material, filming an interview on two cameras, sourcing archival footage and photographs, filming a two Auckland Milongas, and finally editing, working alongside the client all the way through. I produced 1x18min film and 2x5min Milonga clips edited to music. You can see the film below. Fee free to send me a message when you’re planning your next human story documentary.

Here is what the clients said, “Working with TeMuri on this project was a deeply rewarding experience. He approached the story with sensitivity, clarity and respect - capturing Maida not just as a tango figure, but as the extraordinary human she is. Thank you for honoring her story and for holding the essence of our community so gently on screen.”
